SC900 Electronic Soil Compaction Meter
Soil compaction prevents moisture penetration, reduces fertiliser and chemical uptake and hinders plant root growth. In some cases, yield losses can run as high as 30% due to compaction. A compacted soil also means roots must exert greater force to penetrate the compacted layer. One way to quantify the change is by measuring the bulk density. Your soil is one of your most important resource when growing a healthy and profitable crop. The SC900 Compaction meter helps to make decisions regarding areas of the field that require tillage, changes to crop rotation and planting of cover crops.

The SC900 comes complete with USB cable, carrying case and depth target. Includes 13mm and 20mm cone tips for soil and sand media.
SC900 Electronic Soil Compaction Meter. Batteries included. Analogue meter available with easy to read dial and depth gauge

This SC900 electronic soil compaction meter is the most versatile compaction meter on the market. Soil depth readings are determined by a sonic depth sensor, from 0 to 45 cm in 2.5cm increments. Cone index values are measured by a load cell sensor and can be displayed in PSI or kPa. The shaft-mounted probe allows the user to easily and rapidly take many measurements. The shaft can be disassembled into 2 pieces for easy storage and transport. The meter’s built-in datalogger can record data from several sites and eliminates the need to record data manually. Through the software, the user can download the data, change the logger settings and configure the meter.
Mapping your results is easy by connecting to any GPS receiver that has a serial output option. (Garmin 73H) and the right baud rate for the SC900. GPS requires the GPS/DGPS cable and a PC interface cable.
