The presence of a strong electro-magnetic field (EMF) in the vicinity of the <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> system or close to the treated water pipe downstream of the treatment system can distort the <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> frequencies and render the treatment partially ineffective.<br \/>It is therefore essential to determine the source and extent of any strong electromagnetic fields at the point of treatment as well as adjacent to the treated water pipes downstream of the treatment.<br \/><strong>SOURCES OF EMFs<\/strong><br \/>Electro-magnetic fields are generated by a wide variety of electrical equipment such as pump motors, heating elements, transformers (including the Hydrosmart\u2019s own transformer), ballast resistors, magnetic flow meters, controllers for irrigation valves or any \u2018back-flush\u2019 system, solenoid valves and switches, control panels and electrical wiring, (particularly 3 phase cables). Wiring running parallel to a treated water pipe is much more damaging than wires crossing the pipes at right angles. Ensure that no single or 3 phase power cables are buried along side the treated water pipe. Wherever possible it is best to keep power cables and water pipes at least one metre apart. Where this is not possible, shielded power cable can be used.<br \/>EMF\u2019s are best determined prior to installation.<br \/>As a simple guide, allow for the following distances from treated water pipes or the <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong>\u00a0unit as distance offers the best insulation for EMF reduction to safe levels.<br \/>Allow:<br \/>3 metres from large electric pump motors<br \/>2 metres downstream and away from small pumps, transformers and magnetic flow meters<br \/>1 metre from unshielded power cables that carry high current draw such as for the pump<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]<strong>INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> systems are designed for easy Do it Yourself installation. Unlike water softeners, which incur expensive installation costs, the Hydrosmart is completely D.I.Y, or you can either have a plumber or irrigation specialist install the unit. The Hydrosmart is easily installed in 15 to 30 minutes using either or both PVC and irrigation fittings (not supplied).<br \/>\n<strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> systems are sized according to pipe diameter and come in the following pipe sizes.<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00be\u201d 20mm &#8211; D20 Unit (I.D 17mm) \u2013 Copper Loop<br \/>\n\u2022 1\u201d 25mm &#8211; D25 Unit (I.D 30mm) \u2013 PVC Loop<br \/>\n\u2022 1 \u00bc\u201d 30mm &#8211; D30 Unit (I.D 37mm) \u2013 PVC Loop<br \/>\n\u2022 1 \u00bd\u201d 40mm &#8211; D40 Unit (I.D 43mm) \u2013 PVC Loop<br \/>\n\u2022 2\u201d 50mm &#8211; D60 Unit (I.D 54mm) \u2013 PVC Loop<br \/>\n\u2022 3\u201d 80mm &#8211; H80 Unit (I.D 79mm) \u2013 PVC Loop<br \/>\nAll above systems are supplied as double pass systems fitted on loops of Class 12 high pressure PVC pipe with the exception of the \u00be\u201d (20mm) systems which are supplied in copper tube. These loops have to be plumbed in at the appropriate points in the water supply and connected to a Standard AC power socket via the supplied Hydrosmart Power Supply Unit.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]The flow through the <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> loop can go in either direction. Other pipe materials and diameters can be accommodated and this may require plumbing alterations to be made by the customer prior to installation.<br \/>\n<strong>HYDROSMART INSTALLATION DIMENSIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <strong>HYDROSMART \u2122<\/strong>unit can be installed in any orientation, vertical, horizontal, or horizontal on its back parallel to the ground. The unit is also bio-directional; water flow can be either way through the unit.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.watermonitoringcontrol.com.au\/systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/HydrosmartDimensions.png&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]<strong>MOISTURE PROTECTION<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <strong>HYDROSMART \u2122\u00a0<\/strong>unit is an electronic device with a microprocessor at its heart and therefore is affected by water. When installing please protect the unit from moisture of all types including steam. The IP external box is water repellent but not designed to be reliably water proof.<br \/>\n<strong>OUTDOOR INSTALLTIONS<\/strong><br \/>\nExterior applications require that the <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> systems be protected from direct sunlight, the weather, wildlife and vandalism. A shed or suitable enclosure is recommended. The Hydrosmart unit must be at least 30cm away from metal surfaces such as metal cladding.<br \/>\n<strong>POWER<\/strong><br \/>\nHydrosmart can be powered from mains, battery or solar power supplies. Mains supplies can be left on permanently for example, during the irrigation season. (i.e.; not connected to the irrigation control timer circuits).<br \/>\n1. For optimal water treatment <strong>HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> system is best installed after any pumping system (e.g. after bore head or after pressure pump on Holding Tank) near the water meter or at the main water supply.<br \/>\n2. The<strong> HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> system can be placed on the intended pipeline in any position that is suits to provide all the water conditioning to the areas for treatment required.<br \/>\n3.<strong> HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> system can be installed vertically, horizontally or at any other angle.<br \/>\n<strong>INSTALLATION EXAMPLES<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Protect the power supply unit against exposure to direct UV &amp; water.<br \/>\n2. Use the included power supply unit only (Supplies 20v DC &amp; 40v DC to the Processing unit).<br \/>\n3. Do not cut or damage the wire coils or nor the DC V power cord of the power supply unit.<br \/>\n4. Protect the Hydrosmart unit against exposure to direct UV &amp; water.<br \/>\n5. The operating temperature of Hydrosmart ranges from (\u201325\u00b0C to +50\u00b0C).<br \/>\n6. Temperature peaks on heated pipelines should not exceed (80\u00b0C).<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.watermonitoringcontrol.com.au\/systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Installation_of_Hydrosmart_in_shed_and_box.png&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]<strong>EXTENDING THE POWER CABLE<\/strong><br \/>\nTo extend the length of the power cable you can either:<br \/>\nUse an appropriate standard power extension cable between the<strong> HYDROSMART \u2122<\/strong> Power Supply and the 240V mains power outlet.<br \/>\nor<br \/>\nReplace the cable between the<strong> HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> Power Supply and the Junction Box on the loop with a longer cable. Long lengths need to have thick cable (75 sqr mm) which can run up to 100 metres. Just open the Junction Box and the Power Supply and replace the existing cable with the new matching the colour coding exactly.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.watermonitoringcontrol.com.au\/systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/HydrosmartSwitchModePowerSupplyConnections.png&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.watermonitoringcontrol.com.au\/systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/HydrosmartJunctionBoxandProcessorUnitConnections.png&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]<strong>MOUNTING THE LOOP<\/strong><br \/>\nThe loop is designed to be mounted using the galvanised support struts which can be drilled through for screwing and bolting to suit your needs. Preferably not against a metal surface (metal fence) or if doing so ensure all antennae are not touching the metal as this will neutralise the effectiveness.<br \/>\nThe loop, although designed to be mounted upright, can be mounted in any position or angle that best suits the situation. If mounted upside down the input glands will need to be protected from water. If positioned horizontally ensure antennae are not touching the ground as this will earth the fields and neutralise the effectiveness.<br \/>\n<strong>IRRIGATION SYSTEMS<\/strong><br \/>\nThe sub 4 micron particle size produced by<strong> HYDROSMART\u2122<\/strong> treatment is smaller than the pore size of most of the filters currently used in commercial irrigation systems. Consequently, filters below 200 microns may no longer be required. In most cases it does no harm to leave existing filters in place, unless they cause unnecessary flow restrictions or cause the pumps to use too much energy. Any filtration above 4 microns will be progressively cleaned out by the resonance frequencies. However, some forms of coarse filter screens (200 microns or above) are useful to remove any solid matter such as leaves, sticks and stones, which will not be broken down by the treatment.<br \/>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=&#8221;https:\/\/www.watermonitoringcontrol.com.au\/systems\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IdealSetUpforaHydrosmartIrrigationSystem.png&#8221; align_tablet=&#8221;center&#8221; align_phone=&#8221;&#8221; align_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.23&#8243; box_shadow_style=&#8221;preset2&#8243;][\/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;3.27.4&#8243;]The above diagram shows the ideal set up for a HYDROSMART\u2122 treated irrigation system with system plumbed in just after the screen filter and well clear of any EMF\u2019s from the power cables, pump motors and irrigation control systems.<br \/>\nEnsure that no power cables are buried along side the treated water pipe as this will distort the frequencies and negate the treatment.
